DAILY LIFE
PRACTICE THIS!!!
ONE-POINTEDNESS
OF MIND
GIVE UP
CONCENTRATION
I have said this before;
Day and night
focus on one thing only that's
the relaxation of mind!
here;
the 'relaxation' means;
not to focus on any single
object.
(or
subject)
~ free flying!
or
FLYING EAGLE!
AND ZAZEN IS THIS
SO PRACTICE WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED
IN
[ ZAZEN ]
PUT IT IN DAILY LIFE!!!

Who said this?
Whatever you do, it remains daily life. Does it matter what you do? No, I don’t think it does. What matters is how you do it. Sila, samadhi, panna.what to do in daily life.

Enver.the King of zen.Even my name is a signature of zen.
You are philosophying even the simple facts of life.I think you don't understand the zen.Whatever you do, it remains daily life. Does it matter what you do? No, I don’t think it does. What matters is how you do it. Sila, samadhi, panna.

Re: DAILY LIFE
You may be right.
I sometimes think otherwise.
Thanks for the reminder.
I don’t see the “philosophying”. You made a simple statement, “what to do in daily life.” which, inattentively, I read as a question. I responded, as I did, with the assumption that whatever one does it can only be done in daily life. There is no other life. We are all always doing something, it can’t be otherwise. My understanding, of zen, is that what is done is of less concern than how it is done.

When the question "How" arises the philosophy begins.[james] wrote: My understanding, of zen, is that what is done is of less concern than how it is done.
Anyway you are very close to whatever you are chasing.Which doesn't in my concern.

It reminds me of Max in Get Smart trying to figure out the who-done-it: "if you know the where and the how, then you will know the when and the who!
Re: DAILY LIFE
I don't see why the wisdom of philosophy should be classified as a negative.
Likewise I am blind as to how one would interpret statements by [james] as him chasing anything at all: in fact, quite the opposite, as, imo, his statements indicate that he espouses ordinariness.
Perhaps your "concern" should be directed to the benefit of all beings, without exception.

Re: DAILY LIFE
It is simple.Because I'm philosophying since i begin to read about zen nearly 15 years ago which i still.But couldn't be able to hear even one locust chirring and still at level one at ten bulls.Kaya wrote: I don't see why the wisdom of philosophy should be classified as a negative.
where do you think i make the mistake?
Well my words were about his daily life off the subject.I thought if he has been chasing something in mind he could be close to it.that'all. just an opinion.Likewise I am blind as to how one would interpret statements by [james] as him chasing anything at all: in fact, quite the opposite, as, imo, his statements indicate that he espouses ordinariness.
that's right.which is the ideal.if life don't bind your foot somehow.Perhaps your "concern" should be directed to the benefit of all beings, without exception.

so, that I have give up reading/philosophing.rather to have zazen in rest of my growing.
that's right.Do you have zazen?
not off the subject.
that's right.In daily life there is no off the subject
daily life itself should become the meditation itself.how will it become?
only when daily life becomes only daily life.
that's right.Your foot, bound or unbound... daily life.
I have embeded my problems inside.like the native americans embeded the tomahawks erstwhile.
