Mushin

Post by Bobwidget » Wed Apr 24, 2019 1:56 pm

Mushin is the ancient zen doctrine of no mind. Hardly a new principle. Those that adhere to this doctrine would find any form of worship to be a unhealthy focus of attention.

Be your totally relaxed physical body as a whole and you will be aware.

Even in religions of god to pay attention to him is incorrect. We must be aware of reality around us. Our creator.

Mushin literally means awake aware mind ( head ). There is many bad translations out there. Ones speaking of the subconscious that does not exist in a aware being. Or a attention never ceasing and constantly flowing in martial practice that only leads to a insecure mind that cannot keep up with the pace of combat. It hinders it.

I have practiced martial skills for years. I capitalize on those using attention to spar. I always teach being aware and very easily show them the downfall of using focus.

Nah, I'd say mushin means no mind. No offense!

This is just natural and normal in Zen Buddhism, and among Zen Buddhists. Nothing special, what so Trevor (I mean, whatsoever).

Let's not make a fetish of this natural fact.

The no-mind of course is the mind shared by All, where All is just the One Being (one being). Seems there can be nothing outside, or inside, of that! Just One, if that many (as I like to say). Maybe fewer than that!: this seems natural to me, too. Well,... see what you see, "yourself", with no holds barred (i.e., practice with teacher and sangha),

Strong practice,

The attention is focused nervous system energy. Taught it as children then imagination creates one literally. All animals possess an attention. The more pronounced you make your attention the more nervous the body becomes. Following the principle of mushin or no mind literally means letting your attention totally relax then the physical body will totally relax without effort.. Shinkintaza. To just sit. Or type? The body no longer focused your just effortlessly aware.
